Warranty Terms – Water Tank

The Warranty to your Duraco Water Tank is valid for Twelve years.

It is applicable as follows:

First 4 years– Free replacement or free repair whichever may be necessary

5 to 6 years– 85% discount off the current retail price of the Water Tank or free repair, whichever may be necessary

6 to 8 years– 70% discount off the current retail price of the Water Tank or free repair, whichever may be necessary

8 to 10 years – 55% discount off the current retail price of the Water Tank or free repair, whichever may be necessary

10 to 12 years – 40% discount off the current retail price of the Water Tank or free repair,
whichever may be necessary

Note:
The company’s obligations under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement of the water
tank, at the option of the company.

Warranty Exclusions

1. Accidental damage, acts of god, failure due to misuse, incorrect installation, attempts to repair the water tank other than by DURACO Ltée accredited service agent

2. The warranty only applies to the water tank and does not cover any plumbing, or fittings supplied by the company such as float valve, outlet fittings, foot valve in case of underground tanks and lid
Any leakage at outlet/inlet resulting from wrong plumbing installation

3. Subject to any statutory provisions to the contrary, claims for damage to furniture, carpets, foundations or any other consequential loss either directly or indirectly due to leakage from the water tanks

4. The warranty does not apply to tanks which have been used for storage of chemicals

5. Where the water tank is not installed according to the instruction above

 

A fixed fee of Rs 1,800 (VAT inclusive) will be applicable to all site interventions, including those under warranty to cover for the transport and labor costs for diagnosis on site.


Warranty Terms – Solar Water Heater

The warranty is applicable to your DURACO solar hot water system (hereafter called the solar
system) and is as follows:

Tubes and Heat Pipes: 180 months from the date of installation – Free replacement of failed tubes and heat pipes (Transport and Labour will be charged to owner)

Manifold and frame: 180 months from date of installation – Free replacement of defective manifold and frame (Transport and Labour will be charged to owner)

Solar Water Tank: 96 months from date of installation – (Transport and Labour will be charged to owner)

Electric booster: 36 months from date of installation – (Transport and Labour will be charged to owner)

Assistant tank & Float Valve: 12 months from date of installation (Transport & Labour will be charged to owner)

Warranty Conditions

  1. The company’s obligation under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement of any part, or parts, of the solar system, at the option of the company
  2. This warranty does not cover misuse, accident or failure from faulty installation, *harsh or adverse water conditions or from attempts to repair the system by other than DURACO accredited technician or service agent.

*Water Supply Conditions

  1. The pressure should not exceed 3.5 bars for the Pressure type model (Pre-Heated Pressure, Compact Split Pressure and Split Unit).
  2. Only Potable and Non-corrosive water meeting Mauritian Standards should be used. If you are ensure of the quality and chemistry of the water being used; a Saturation Index Test need to be done to measure the Corrosiveness.

NOTE: The Saturation Index is a measure of the water’s corrosiveness. Corrosion may result in early failure of copper parts such as solar collectors and copper sheathed electric components (electric boosters and heat pipes) and copper fittings (manifold). Water is considered corrosive should the saturation index be below -1.0. Scaling, which is the build-up of calcium carbonate in the tank and heating elements, can occur where the Saturation Index is above +0.4. With scale build up, the efficiency of heat transfer will be reduced drastically with time.

SOLAR WATER HEATERS USED WITH CORROSIVE WATER WILL NOT BE COVERED WITH WARRANTY.

 

  1. The warranty only applies to the solar system and does not cover any plumbing or electrical parts such as pressure and temperature relief valves, air valve, float valve, stop cocks, non return valve, electrical switches, pumps, fuses and others.

Warranty Exclusions

  1. Where the non-pressure solar system has been connected directly to a pressure supply (such as the water authority main pressure line, pressure pump etc..) and not to an open circuit header tank as is the correct installation procedure.
  2. Accidental damage, acts of God (cyclonic weather), failure due to misuse incorrect installation, attempts to repair the system by other than DURACO accredited technician or service agent.
  3. Where it is found that the system does not suffer any defect, where there is no flow of hot water due to a faulty plumbing installation and not of the system or components, where there is a failure of water supplies.
  4. Subject to any statutory provisions to contrary claims for damage to furniture, carpets, walls, foundation, or any other consequential loss either directly or indirectly due to leakage from the system.
  5. Where the solar system has been installed and / or operated without the solar system being filled with water.
  6. Where the damage has been caused by an inflow of cold water into the system through the hot water pipe.
  7. Where the unit has been moved without the company’s prior approval.
  8. No warranty on the vacuum tubes (except manufacturing defect).
  9. Where solar water heater has been supplied with corrosive water leading to evident signs of corrosion on copper elements (manifold, copper pipes, electric boosters and other copper fittings)

VERY IMPORTANT – When using electric booster

For safety precaution, make sure that electric booster is switched off before using hot water

All water connections from main supply to the cold-water inlet and from the hot water outlet to the hot water distribution lines MUST BE MADE WITHIN ONE WEEK OF INSTALLATION DATE
